John Bodnar

Coach Bodnar has established himself as one of the most sought after face-off coaches in the Philly area. He has helped countless players at all levels achieve their goals of becoming a better face-off guy. He is currently on his 8th season coaching at Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square where he works extensively with the face-off unit. Under Coach Bodnar’s tenure, he has coached up 2 high school All American face-off guys at Episcopal, and all 5 of his face-off guys through the years have committed to a Division I program.

John graduated from Cabrini College in 2008 and majored in Political Science. He went on to complete his Masters of Education at Cabrini College in 2009. He is currently on his 7th year teaching Special Education at Penn Wood High School in Yeadon, PA.

John was an excellent player at Madison High School (NJ) where he earned first team all state honors as a senior in 2004. At Madison John was known for his faceoff abilities and still holds the best faceoff percentage record in a season (78 percent). Facing off also runs in the Bodnar household. John’s father John Sr. faced off for Hobart College and won a national championship in 1977.

John went on to attend Division III power Cabrini College, where he earned all conference honors in 2006 as a face-off midfielder.

John currently reside in Media, PA (Everyone’s Hometown) with his wife Kerri and 1 year old son JT.


Mike is a current face-off Coach for the Duke’s Lacrosse Club and works with a variety of face-off guys in his spare time.

Coach Dolente’s wide knowledge of the face-off position dates back to 2006. Dolente earned four varsity letters as a member of the Cabrini Cavaliers from 2006-2009. Dolente helped the Blue & White to four consecutive conference championships and four straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He earned first-team all-conference accolades as a junior in 2008. Mike finished his undergraduate degree in business administration from Cabrini in 2009. Mike ranks third on the program’s all-time career face-off wins list, tallying 331. He also owns the program’s third and sixth-most single-season face-off victories, winning 181 in 2009 and 106 in 2008. Mike’s playing career continued after graduation from Cabrini. In 2010, he helped the GMH club team to the Amateur Lacrosse League championship.

Under Mike’s watch at Cabrini, he has groomed former standout and 2 time All American Anthony Dinenno as one of the most dominant Division III face-off players in the country.

Mike currently resides in King of Prussia with his wife Tina.
