The I-95 Cup

August 19th, 2021

Sportika Sports
150 Woodward Rd, Manalapan Township, NJ 07726

Why the I-95 Cup?

As a faceoff midfielder, ever wonder what area of the country produces the best?

Ever read about faceoff guys from other areas and wish you could go against them?

There are plenty of individual tournaments out there where individual players are crowned champions, but what area has the overall best??

The I-95 Cup is not your ordinary faceoff tournament.

It’s the ultimate challenge to see which AREA of the country has the most talented face-off midfielders. It was created by John Bodnar and Greg Gurenlian of the Faceoff Academy back in 2016 as a fun and competitive way to see which hot bed has the most depth at the face-off position.

The top players from 4 different areas will meet for a 1-day tournament in an intense, never seen style tournament.

For questions about this event please e-mail John Bodnar at phillyfaceoff@yahoo.com or Greg Gurenlian at faceoffacademyinfo@gmail.com

Ever wonder who would make the best faceoff duo in Philly??

We argue about it often, so we decided to start the ultimate tag team faceoff tournament to settle it. It’s a one of a kind double elimination tournament where we finally settle who would make the best duo. The winners get the title of champions as well as walking out with the prestigious Navy PFL Jam champion jackets.

Anybody in the 2022-2026 class are welcome to get a partner and participate. The cost to participate will be $75 per player (pay the day of using cash/check/venmo) and all players receive a PFL snapback hat. More details to come.

The Rivalry Challenge

Date & Location TBD

Boston vs. Philadelphia

One of the best rivalries in sports.

The top 10 faceoff guys from Philadelphia and New England are meeting up at the halfway point at the Connecticut Sportsplex in Connecticut to finally settle this rivalry the right way.

The Rivalry Challenge will be a one-day event where the morning will be set up differently than the afternoon.

During the AM session, the 10 players on Philly and Boston will be split up into two teams of 5. These teams will then go through a round robin where an eventual winner will be determined. Whoever wins in the AM will have a major advantage leading into the afternoon.

We will break for lunch for 1 hour and meet in the afternoon to battle for the title. By this time all the players from Philly and Boston will be very familiar with each other. In the PM session, Team Philly’s Top 10 will now go head to head against Team Boston’s Top 10. Players will be sent out 1 at a time to battle in a best of 5 faceoff where the winner of that matchup will give their team 1 point. The team that gets to a certain amount of points will walk out of the Connecticut Sportsplex with the hardware.

The Rivalry Challenge was created by John Bodnar and Joe Nardella of the Faceoff Factory.

This event will be invite only and players invited to come must register online either through the Philly Faceoff League or the Faceoff Factory.
